Gram's Cran Cobbler

Details:
- Serves 6-7
- Prep & cook time 45 minutes
- Oven 350° degrees F
Ingredients:
Crumble top- 4 tablespoons chilled butter, unsalted
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup flour
- dash of cinnamon
- dash of salt
- 1 cup fresh cranberries
- 1 tablespoon farmhouse OJ (fresh squeezed orange)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 1/4 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 pinch nutmeg (optional)
- 1 pinch cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup sugar (split)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 6 tablespoon butter, unsalted
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1 large egg
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350° degrees F
- Generously butter a 9-inch cast iron skillet or 9-inch pie pan
- In a small bowl combine flour, sugars, salt and cinnamon. Add chilled butter and work together by hand, or with fork, until large clumps form, set aside
- In a small bowl combine the cranberries, farmhouse OJ and 4 tbsp. of sugar, set aside
- In a medium bowl whisk together melted butter, milk, remaining sugar (3/4 cup), egg and vanilla
- In a large bowl combine flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt
- Add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients (large & medium bowl), stirring to combine
- Pour batter into the cast iron skillet or pie pan
- Scatter the sugared cranberries over the top of the batter, slightly press berries into batter
- Scatter the crumble over the top
- Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, until golden brown
- Serve warm and for extra goodness add a dollop of vanilla ice cream
